Two Cases of root fracture healing after dental injuries

Abstract
This case report describes two horizontal root fracture healing after dental trauma. One is self healing by connective tissue without any dental treatment, the other is by connective tissue after proper dental treatment.
An acute dental trauma may imply impact to the hard dental tissues and damage to the pulp and periodontium. In luxation injuries, the trauma often results in rupture of the neurovascular supply in the area of apical foramen. On the other hands, in root fractures, the injuries occur at the level of the fracture. So root fracture is another type of luxation injury coronal fragment concerned.
Healing of root fracture is influenced by various factors, especially pulp vitality. In the case of pulp necrosis diagnosed prudently, adequate dental treatment including endodontic treatment is required, otherwise which may not united by interposition of granulation tissues.
